Chef Redd's BBQ & Soulfood
Chef Redd's BBQ originated in a little town in Summerton SC.
Chef Redd and all of his siblings was taught to cook BBQ from Mr. Thomas and Louise Sampson (his parents). The BBQ recipe's and BBQ sauce has been passed down through four generations. Chef Redd's father, would cook 5-6 whole hogs per week in the back yard, and the entire family participated. Mr. Thomas Sampson would cook the BBQ in the ground The rite of passage for chef and his 2 brothers was to was to cook a whole hog by yourself by the age of 13.
As a child, Chef was known for cooking some of the best BBQ dishes. He was very talented and an over achiever with cooking and preparing BBQ that he wanted to find a better way to
use the technique of indirect cooking. Indirect cooking means the fire never touches the meat. That is where the slow roasted smoked BBQ flavor and texture comes from. Chef Redd, has been preparing the best BBQ in Augusta GA for over 20 years! When you enter our restaurant, we treat you like family and make sure you are satisfied.
